Carol Woodson who lives on Edgewater in Chico is very much concerned for the future of flocks of Western Bluebirds in her area.  The Woodsons are moving out of the area this month and Carol believes that, for several reasons, the bluebirds may have limited or potentially deadly (e.g., non-vented “decorative boxes”) nesting options in the area after she leaves.   She has several bluebird nesting boxes to give to anyone who may be able to help getting them set up.  She said there are good sites to place boxes and she is sure many homeowners as well as perhaps California Park and Sierra Sunrise would give permission for nesting box placement.  Anyone willing to help in any fashion is requested to contact her soon at (530) 343-8754.  Her e-mail address is csamuelsonwoodson@yahoo.com.
