Not local, but definitely “of note” – Ivory-billed Woodpecker (feared extinct for sixty years) has been seen in Arkansas! We just can’t do such a report justice here, but wanted to mention it anyway! For more information, see http://www.birds.cornell.edu/ivory/.
On April 13, Jim Snowden reported from Llano Seco: A Whimbrel failed to swallow a crawdad after many attempts. A Greater Yellowlegs failed to swallow a 2 inch bluegill after many attempts. An adult Bald Eagle was harassing an Osprey. Six Ross' Geese were late in Butte County.
Jim Snowden also reported Sanderlings (a fifth Butte County record) at Llano Seco on April 16.
Jackson Shedd reported a Sora in Colusa County on April 21.
From the CCNC “Bird and Breakfast”, Skip Augur reported a MacGillivray’s Warbler.
