Heron Festival & Wildflower Brunch - The Redbud Audubon annual Heron Festival and Wildflower Brunch will be April 23, 2005 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Clear Lake State Park near Kelseyville. Redbud Audubon Society co-sponsors the event with the Clear Lake State Park Interpretive Association.

This is a family event to learn about birds, explore nature, and enjoy wildflowers in bloom.

Local Audubon birders will offer guided pontoon boat tours on the lake. The 90-minute tours, offering a close-up view of heron and cormorant rookeries along the shoreline, are open to adults and quiet grade-school children accompanied by an adult. Reservations are required.

Guided kayak tours will explore the creeks and lake shoreline for wading birds, water birds, raptors, woodpeckers, and other riparian wildlife.  Reservations are required. 

The Wildflower Brunch featuring 'design your own omelet' will be from 9 AM until noon, reservations required. Call 707-279-4395 to reserve.

Both morning and afternoon schedules will include free nature and bird walks through the park, nature presentations in the Visitor Center, booths with educational displays and products, and children's activities.
