I may occasionally put in a bit for interesting birding-related internet sites I’ve run across. The one for this month is http://www.percevia.com./; by putting in characteristics and field marks that you notice, it can help you with bird identification by narrowing down the possibilities on-the-fly. There are only 400 species in the database so far, so it’s not “100%” even for our local area, but it’s an interesting idea with a lot of possibilities. (There are other searchable databases there as well, but the birding one was most interesting to me).
