February Meeting – Hummingbirds of California

An Identification Workshop

Monday, February 16, 7:30 PM

See the video tape of Steve Howell’s workshop that he gave at the November 2003 CVBC 7th Annual Birding Symposium; also take home his handouts.

The most widespread species are also the most similar – 8 small gorgeted hummingbirds.

Learn Steve’s new strategy for their field identification…..especially for the very difficult females and immatures.

Steve has authored and co-authored several other books (including A Bird-finding Guide to Mexico [1999], Birds of MEXICO & NORTHERN CENTRAL AMERICA [1994], Hummingbirds of North America: the Photographic Guide [2002]) and over a hundred scientific and popular articles.

The meeting will be held at the Chico Creek Nature Center, 1968 East 8th Street.
