Salmon Country Conference – Friday October 24, 2003 (8:00am-4pm) Red Bluff Community Center, 1500 South Jackson Street, Red Bluff, CA 96080. The Salmon Country Conference will feature presentations on Cottonwood and Battle Creeks as well as the proposed Sacramento River National Conservation Area (SRNCA). Particular emphasis will be placed on restoration activities in the backcountry region located between Anderson in Shasta County and Red Bluff in Tehama County. The potential for economic development in this area from an ecological perspective will also be addressed, along with associated land management options.

Sandhill Crane Festival - November 7th, 8th and 9th 2003, Hutchins Street Square, Lodi, California. The 2003 Sandhill Crane Festival Steering Committee and its many volunteers welcome you to this, our seventh year, annual event. The Central Valley Bird Club will be hosting the Seventh Annual Central Valley Birding Symposium Nov. 20-23, 2003 at the Radisson Hotel in Stockton, CA. There will be field trips, workshops, a Birding Nature Fair and Art Show with over 25 vendors selling nature related items, etc.
Jon Dunn will be giving a Sparrow ID workshop, Steve Howell a Hummingbird ID Workshop, and Kimball Garrett will tell us "Why Birders Should Care About Subspecies".
The Keynote Speakers are: Ed Harper- A Passion for Birds", Keith Hansen- "The Farallons", and John Hendrickson- "California Raptors".
