Salmon Country Conference - Saturday, May 10, 2003 (8:00am-4pm) Red Bluff Community Center, 1500 South Jackson Street, Red Bluff, CA 96080.
The Salmon Country Conference will feature presentations on Cottonwood and Battle Creeks as well as the proposed Sacramento River National Conservation Area (SRNCA). Particular emphasis will be placed on restoration activities in the backcountry region located between Anderson in Shasta County and Red Bluff in Tehama County. The potential for economic development in this area from an ecological perspective will also be addressed, along with associated land management options.The Conference will be preceded by a series of tours of the area on Friday, May 9. One of the tours will be of the Fenwood Ranch property in Shasta County, which has a conservation easement held by the Shasta Land Trust. Another tour will be led by staff from the federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and will feature lands within the proposed SRNCA.
Registration for the Saturday conference is $20 and includes a continental breakfast and buffet lunch. There is a separate registration fee for each of the tours on Friday. To find out more information about the tours, click on "tours" (above).
