On May 7th we need every member of this chapter to attend the public hearing on widening Manzanita and taking out trees along the right of way. Last week as I was watching TV I came upon the Parks Commission Meeting. A commissioner was chastising a speaker about who he represented. I raced down to the council Chambers and said I represented our 600 members. Write letters or attend this meeting and support alternative "B". No trees will be lost if this is the chosen alternative. Also encourage the City Council to establish a Tree Ordinance and throw the book at Andrew Meghdadi for illegally cutting down Chico's irreplaceable trees.
