First, I would like to apologize for this summers botched Field Trips. When I set the dates in, May my slate was clean. But a June Grandson's birthday, July financial woes, and August Engagement party for my # 2 son and his bride to be kept me from leading the trips. It's my story and I am sticking to it!

September 28- 30 - Point Reyes. Meet at The Chico Park and Ride at 4 PM on the 28th or at Sacramento NWR at 5:15 PM. This trip can be rampant with Eastern Migrants or devoid of these critters, but we usually see 100 species and there is usually one very exciting bird. Last year it was a Buff-bellied Sandpiper seen by a few hardy souls. There are currently several on the coast now. Might the Greater Sandplover return for it's second Hemispheric appearance? October 13 - Upper Bidwell Park. Meet at the Chico Park and Ride at 7 AM. Bring lunch and liquids. Maybe Mike Skram's recent Northern Parula Warbler has moved to the Park or the Gray Catbird has returned or just the great birds that come to Butte County in the Fall.
