Chico Oxidation Ponds - 12 Altacalers enjoyed a windy morning at the "poo ponds". The species of ducks was somewhat meager but we saw Mallards, Green-winged Teal, Northern Pintail, Cinnamon Teal, Northern Shoveler, Gadwalls, Canvasback, Buffleheads, and Ruddy Ducks. We also had Coots, Sandhill Cranes, Killdeer, Black Phoebe, and Golden-crowned and White-crowned Sparrows.

San Benito County - Steve Emmons and Richard Redmond were the only people who were chance a new place and were they rewarded! They had 83 species; highlights included Bald and Gold Eagle, Roadrunner, Red-naped Sapsucker (6th county record), House Wren, Canyon Wren, White-throated Swift, Western Kingbird, Warbling Vireo, Vesper Sparrow, Rufous-crowned Sparrow, Bullock's Oriole and flocks of Lawrence's Goldfinches.
