Editors Note - The following is in Richard's own words. Although his wording is not be the same as I might use, I certainly share his feeling on the lack of willingness of many of our members to share some of our volunteer workload (with apologies to those who are honestly not able to volunteer). My personal feeling is that if no one is willing to step up to the plate, we just won't have field trips, but Richard has decided to donate yet more of his time to the chapter. |
Because of the lack of Volunteers to replace Richard Redmond as Fieldtrip Chair, he has decided to resume that mantle. He is only doing so because our chapter is so full of deadbeats who let other people do all the work - Richard Redmond
February 23-25 - Honey Lake and environs. This is a high desert lake and sagebrush habitat. Waterfowl and raptors provide some of the same things we see here in the valley, but the Sage Grouse (on their lek, where they perform courting displays), Sage Sparrow, Chukar, Sage Thrasher, and possible American Tree Sparrow, spice up the area immensely.
March 10 - Chico Oxidation Ponds. Meet at the Chico Creek Nature Center at 7:45 AM. The Chico Oxidation Ponds is a place where you can usually often see 50 species in a morning.
Please contact Richard Redmond at 893-5382 or chicobman@aol.com for more information.
