Birds of the Great Valley Refuge

Continuing Education Workshop: Birds of the Great Valley Refuge - Sunday November 19, 9am-5pm. This course is designed to acquaint both teachers and the novice and experienced birder with the natural histories and field identification of western birds, especially waterfowl and birds of prey, as they winter at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge. A field guide is necessary to aid your understanding and enjoyment of the course. If you do not have a guide, a list of recommended guides will be provided to you at the time of your registration. Besides one of the field guides, binoculars are a necessary tool to view birds in the field. Cameras and field journals make the experience greater for some.
