| From Our Educational Director |
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to our 1st annual education appeal. With your help we raised almost $500.00 and I am sure there are a few contributions that still need to be accounted for. Thank you so much! I will keep you updated as to what is going on with our education efforts. It is nice to know that we have a member base that cares enough to help when help is needed. Thanks again.
Oh yes, one more thing. Last time I quizzed you on the names of 6 birds that were commonly used last century. Here are the answers: a) golden-winged woodpeckers are yellow-shafted flickers, b) butcher-birds are shrikes, c) rice buntings are bobolinks, d) great-footed hawks are peregrine falcons, e) Carolina pigeons are mourning doves, and f) cock-of-the-plains are sage grouse. How did you do?
