March 18-19 - Honey Lake and Environs. We will Leave Friday evening at 5 P.M. for Susanville. There is camping on the refuge or motels in Susanville. Saturday we will bird the Dankin and Fleming units of Honey Lake, and cover some of the surrounding areas that have yielded species such as Sage Sparrow and Chuckar. On Sunday morning we'll rise early to go see Sage Grouse on their lek. Afterwards, we will dine at the Seven Acre Restaurant in Litchfield. We will then bird Janesville and then head home.

May 12-15 - Malheur, Oregon. Start making plans for going to Malheur with Altacal! We'll leave Friday night and sleep in Alturas or in Lakeside, Oregon. We will then head out for Malheur early. Eastern and Northern species are the attraction there, and we have not been disappointed on previous trips. Let Richard know by March 17 so he can make arrangements at the Hostel. The Hostel is centrally located, but there are also hotels in Burns and south of the refuge and camping south of the refuge.
