Upcoming Field Trips

June 11-13 - Yuba Pass & Sierra Valley - We'll will meet at the Chico Park & Ride at 5 PM on Friday afternoon. We will dine in Quincy and camp under the stars at Yuba Pass (barring too much snow). The Yuba pass area has yielded us tough species like Black-backed Woodpecker, Red Crossbill, and Pygmy Owl. We'll bird the pass area Saturday morning, then work our way down the east slope and set up camp at Lake Davis for Saturday night. On Sunday we'll bird the Sierra Valley. Call Richard Redmond for details at 530/893-5382 or email chicobman@aol.com.

June 26-27 - The Central Valley Bird Club will be in the Chico area birding the magnificent riparian forests of the Sacramento River. For more information call Tim Manolis at 916/485-9009, or see the CVBC web page.

June 27 - Richard Redmond will be leading a birding expedition for The Sacramento River Preservation Trust. Contact John Merz to sign up at 530/345-1865.

July 16-18 - Eagle Lake Field Station - We'll meet at 5 PM at the Chico Park & Ride and head for The Eagle Lake Field Station. We'll dine in Susanville before going to the Station. It costs a small amount to stay there and eat, but it is reasonable and goes towards keeping the field station open. We will bird the area around the field station and alpine meadows on Saturday. Sunday we will bird Honey Lake and head home. Call Richard Redmond for pertinent info at 530/893-5382 or email chicobman@aol.com.
