On March 6, 1999, Anne-Lise Feenstra and Vern Oswald reported an Orange-crowned Warbler, Winter Wren and House Wren from the Indian Fisheries, Sacramento River State Park. They further reported 3 Golden-crowned Kinglets from the Big Oak Nature Trail by Black Butte Lake.

Richard Redmond had a Red-breasted Sapsucker across the street from his home on March 6th. March 14th Richard and Mike Skram checked to see if the White-winged Scoter was still where they had found it in December and it was. When the bird was first found it was in immature plumage. The bird is now in adult plumage and is an adult male. The bird was in the dregger pond on Pacific Heights Road before the entrance to the wildlife area. Later on the 14th they went down to Placer County and found a Merlin and a Northern Shrike as well as 5 Loggerhead Shrikes and 3 Vespers Sparrows.
