Chico Oxidation Pond Wildlife Sanctuary
January 5, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
We will get a personal and up close view of the winter waterfowl migration at the Chico Oxidation Ponds, west of Chico. Come and get a first-hand look at our dabblers from Alaska and Canada: Northern Pintail, Cinnamon Teal, Hooded Merganser, Green-winged and Blue-winged Teal and possibly some unexpected vagrants! We have had Long-tailed Duck and Trumpeter Swans in some of our past January trips. The walk is under 2 miles and about 3 hours in total, flat and easy going.
You will need to RSVP for this trip. We are only allowed to take a total of 20 people. So first come, first serve. Please email Matt Forster – firstname.lastname@example.org or 619-347-2269 to reserve your space. We will give you detailed instructions on how to get there.
